Where comes the name Galápago from?

The Galapagos Islands are a clear symbol of evolution and conservation under the same scenario. At this place, Charles Darwin developed the theory of evolution, and it is that exact place where species such as the Galapagos tortoise, unique in the world, has been preserved unchanged for hundreds of years.
